Macey Knight, Hobby Middle School
Macey plays cello with the Hobby Middle School Orchestra under the guidance of her teacher Mrs. Drifmeyer. Inspired by music as a child, Macey now travels on annual Holiday Tours with her orchestra visiting elementary schools, hoping to, in turn, inspire younger musicians. Beethoven is her favorite classical composer.
Lorenzo Perez, Northwest Vista College
Lorenzo Perez graduated from O'Connor High School, where he studied orchestra under Lisa Ann McCutchan. Lorenzo played bass with the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio for three years. He claims that music inspired him at a very young age, when he "first heard the score for the 1989 Batman film." From then on, orchestral music and composition have been the focal points of his life. He is currently studying film score at Northwest Vista College in San Antonio and plays in a local band called the Uprising.
